Our client is looking for someone to coordinate volunteer engagement and development across their Trust, and organise events, activities and corporate engagement from their Volunteer Training Centre at Rutland Water Nature Reserve.
They are looking for a passionate and hardworking person to join the team based at Rutland Water Nature Reserve as Volunteer and Events Coordinator.
The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating volunteer recruitment, engagement, support, training and development across the Trust. As well as organising and promoting events, activities and corporate engagement from the Volunteer Training Centre, enabling more people to enjoy Rutland Water Nature Reserve.
The role will be the first point of contact for any volunteering enquiries; welcoming new volunteers, educating them about our mission and inspiring positive action. The role will also coordinate a varied programme of volunteer training and activities, including heritage and countryside skills, practical habitat management, wildlife surveying monitoring and recording, office-based opportunities, and social events.
The role will liaise with and support staff who manage volunteers and assist those staff to deliver comprehensive and inclusive volunteer support and development.
The role will also engage with new audiences of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, and develop innovative and imaginative opportunities for volunteer access, involvement and activities - including targeted outreach to schools, young people and students, groups with specific needs, and minority groups.
Our client is looking for someone who has experience in working with and managing volunteers, has good communication and organisational skills, is outgoing and confident in talking to new people, and has a passion for nature conservation and protecting the local environment.
The role is full time and will involve regular weekend work
