Douglas Stuart Ltd are currently recruiting Mechanical Design Engineers for our client, a global leader in industrial and commercial steam systems, thermal solutions, pumps and fluid path equipment.
Working as part of a multi-disciplined team of engineers you will be responsible for designing and developing new products from concept to finished, compliant, validated packaged products.
To be successful you must have;
* A good understanding of Electro-Mechanical devices and their workings.
* Strong risk analysis capability and technology level capability to enable risk recognition and mitigation.
* Be able to support the joint creation of product technical specifications, identifying the value proposition and product technical advantage and unique selling points for the desired market.
* Produce detailed mechanical systems drawings, calculations to exacting standards, specific codes such as PED, ASME etc (e.g. steam, condensate , superheated steam, and water injection systems) and technical specifications for control valves, isolation valves and, injectors, etc. In addition, produce supporting calculations and undertake design reviews, FMECA and FMEDA to support the global release of the product.
The key skills required:
* A minimum of 4 years' experience in Industrial product design, ideally pipeline techniologies.
* A good understanding of steam, thermodynamics and fluid control systems.
* Engineering / Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering
* Aptitude for creative problem solving.
