The client is seeking to employ an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Officer on a permanent basis. To be considered in this role you MUST have previously worked in an Mechanical Maintenance based position and should be available at short notice.

Some of your key duties will include ensuring the management of contractors who will provide maintenance and operation of:

Fire alarm systems
Staff alarm and nurse call systems
Intruder alarm and security systems
Electrical installations in accordance with all IEE regulations and relevant standards
Boiler plant (steam & LPHW)
DHWS & CWS systems
Air compressors
Laundry and catering equipment
Hydrotherapy pool plant and equipmentEssential job duties will include:

To participate in the official role of Authorised and Responsible Person to ensure compliance with statutory acts such as but not confined to Electricity at Work, Legionella, Pressure Systems, Lifts and Fire Safety as agreed with the Senior Engineering Person.
Responsible to the Estates Senior Engineer to ensure the most efficient and cost effective use of the direct labour force and contract labour to achieve the objectives of the Estates Department.
Management of direct labour force ensuring optimum performance through the Job Management System.
Responsible for minor projects undertaken by DLF and outside contractors, involving identifying customer needs, writing specifications, tendering, Clerk of Works and commissioning when required by the Senior Estates Team.
Implement current regulations, ensuring such items as Health and Safety, Risk Assessment, COSHH, Legionella, electrical installation and other ACOPs are adhered to.
Purchasing of spare parts, equipment and services to ensure the Trust gets best value from competitive price, delivery and correct quality.
Ensure desired internal environments are achieved from the operation of all services including those controlled by the Building Management system.
Compile reports, carry out feasibility studies and audits (such as Legionella, Risk Assessment) and identify risk areas and the necessary action required to minimise the hazards including capital and revenue implications, when requested by Senior Estates Team.The ideal candidate will have:

A degree in building services engineering or equivalent related subject or with equivalent substantial experience in specific estates related areas
Extensive previous general experience in service, maintenance, and repair of all general building services and engineering trades
