Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Highways
Type: Permanent
Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire
Salary: Negotiable Dependant on Experience + Company Benefits + Car/Car Allowance
The Company
My Client is an established Highways contracting company who are undertaking Civil & Construction and Highways Equipment Installation activities throughout the UK
They have a friendly and personable team, have been trading many years and have low staff attrition.
Due to a substantial new projects and overall increased demand my Client is now looking for a Quantity Surveyor/Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking for the next step to work as part of the team managing commercial activities on framework projects throughout Lincolnshire.
The Role
You will report to the MQS and Commercial Director and you will be responsible for maximising profit and minimise risk for the company by identifying and using commercial opportunities under NEC option C - target cost.

"Advise operations staff within the team regarding commercial and contractual issues
"Prepare commercial and contractual correspondence
"Prepare internal valuations and financial reports
"Prepare external valuations
"Negotiation and administration of Sub-Contracts and pay Sub-Contractors
"Identify and prepare claims
"Review costs against budget and manage accruals
"Be significantly involved with pre contract activities on Civils & Highways Equipment projects.
The Candidate
At least 4 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
Experience ideally would be Highways or Highways Equipment or Utilities Installation.
Familiar with NEC Forms of contract in particular Option C.
Degree/HNC in Quantity Surveying
Knowledge and understanding of construction contracts and law
Commercial awareness
Good communication skills
Negotiation skills
Numeracy
An appreciation of financial reporting
