Job Purpose

To manage the wholesale growth strategy and team(s) on a day to day basis to relentlessly pursue and close new profitable sales, build and maintain relationships with wholesale customers, working with other relevant business functions to resolve customers' immediate needs as well as to continuously improve customer service levels in the mid to long term.

Key Activities

  • Identify customer prospects.
  • Assess prospect suitability against the target wholesale criteria. (Location/ Volume/Profitability).
  • Make the appropriate number of prospect contacts every week to achieve objectives (As a guide 40 contacts per week per person)
  • Liaise with the appropriate people to arrange sample deliveries to customer prospects.
  • Write and present professional branded quotation proposals to prospects using a costing model and/or agreed pricing strategy. (Any deviation to be agreed in writing with MD)
  • Design, implement and maintain a suitable system tool to log, track and trend service level issues.
  • Attend daily service briefing with the Bakery Manager to discuss any immediate service issues.
  • Attend daily and weekly meetings with operations, assign and maintain short, medium and long term actions with vision to eliminate all customer service issues.
  • Liaise with accounts team to resolve any pricing/ billing issues for wholesale customers.
  • Own, manage and maintain existing BOM's (Bill Of Material) system.
  • Transfer existing BOM system onto new RJL, and report the outputs.
  • Leading and/or managing functions and direct reports in relation to performance, recruitment, staffing, attendance management, conflict resolution in line with company Human Resource, Health and Safety and functional policies and procedures.
  • Developing policies, procedures and systems to assist with achieving, reporting and improving any of the objectives and responsibilities contained within the role.
  • Arrange and manage trade show stand presentation
  • Design, implement and maintain (Or identify and manage implementation of) suitable CRM Customer Relationship Management System.
  • Any other reasonable request from a manager or director.
