Food & Beverage Supervisor - 12mnth FTC

Primary Job Purpose

To provide a professional food and beverage service for homeowners, visitors, and family members

* Be the warm and friendly face of the restaurant and lounge areas

* Be the main contact for food and beverage in the development; bookings, orders, service, and events

* Deliver exceptional food and drink service, which is professional, timely and meets all homeowner needs

* Anticipate homeowners needs and take every opportunity to make suggestions and upsell a wide range of food and beverages.

* Administer all bookings and the correct and accurate billing of all consumption through the EPOS system

* Support the Company culture and values and the delivery of high levels of business performance and customer satisfaction

Key Responsibilities

* To manage a booking system for all meal services and events that ensures all opportunities are maximised and the optimal customer service delivered

* To engage with homeowners, identify their needs, fulfil requests, and ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction

* To maintain a detailed knowledge of all dishes and drinks available for each meal service and be comfortable to actively sell additional items to homeowners to enhance their experience

* To plan and organise community events involving food and drink to create positive memorable experiences for homeowners

* To work front of house to offer a food and beverage service to homeowners and guests.

* To work closely with the Chef Manager to deliver an unrivalled food and beverage experience for homeowners, visitors, and family members

* To be confident in the use of IT systems to take bookings, place orders, produce bills and take payments

* To set and achieve challenging sales targets to grow the business

* To train colleagues both from the development and from other developments.

Other general responsibilities

* Maintain standards and consistency by keeping up to date and operating within the latest defined standard specifications, using the approved documentation, process, systems, and source information to ensure consistent and effective performance

* Always fully comply with McCarthy Stone's policies and procedures

* Actively engage and collaboratively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders

* Undertake such other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job holder's experience and qualifications as may be required for the smooth running of the business

Health and Safety

Your Health and Safety responsibilities are to:

* take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of any person who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.

* act in accordance with Company Health and Safety policies and procedures, carrying out any work in accordance with any training, using any equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, informing your Line Manager of any health and safety problems and immediately stopping any unsafe activity until adequate measure have been taken to remove the risk or reduce it to as low as possible.

Person Specification:

Education and Qualifications

* GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths

Knowledge and Experience

* Experience of working in the hospitality or aviation sector for a minimum of 2 years is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

* We are looking for someone who is passionate in delivering high standards and who maintains excellent customer service in a friendly and welcoming fashion.

Personal attributes

* We are looking for someone who is a natural conversationalist, who is polite and comfortable to talk to older people. Any such interaction and visit to the restaurant may be the highlight of their day. The successful candidate needs to be capable of giving their full attention to the homeowner, listen and engage in friendly banter whilst maintaining professional respect and standards
