About Our Client

We are seeking a qualified Management Accountant to join an ambitious niche manufacturing business based near Worcester. Reporting to the CFO, you'll provide accurate & timely delivery of financial statements and monthly management accounts, carry out a broad range period-close & reporting activities and frequently communicate reporting information to the wider business. This is an office based role due to importance of team interaction. The business is COVID secure and services key industry sectors.

Job Description

You will be responsible for supporting the CFO providing accurate and timely execution of general accounting, period end closing, and reporting activities, and delivering reporting information to the wider Finance community in line with defined reporting protocols.

Key tasks will include:

  • Ensuring smooth running of all daily finance demands.
  • Preparation of month end journals applying knowledge of financial and management accounting.
  • Preparation of monthly Management Accounts of multiple entities with variance analysis.
  • Managing VAT returns and monthly payroll
  • Supporting the Financial Controller in projects as and when they arise.
  • Identify and action process improvement initiatives and opportunities.
  • Management and delegation of small team.

The Successful Applicant

- Qualified with a professional accounting body (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or CPA).

- ERP software experience (e.g. Navision, Microsoft Business Central or similar).

- Proficient in MS Office applications (particularly Excel and MS Power BI)

- Minimum of 5 years experience in similar role or equivalent.

- Ability to work unsupervised and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines.

- Good knowledge of core financial systems and general accounting procedures.

- Awareness of current regulations including IFRS / New UK GAAP and Companies Acts an advantage.

- Knowledge of VAT, Asset Accounting and Statutory reporting.

- Ability to extract, utilise and interpret data out of the ERP and billing systems.

- Knowledge & experience in the application of accounting standards and statutory accounting.

- Ability to work independently, target focused and result driven, strong ability to bring about change, energetic and driven taking a hands-on approach and develops an atmosphere of confidence, respect, and trust, acts as a role model within the team, strong service and customer orientation.
