The role
As a member of the School’s Senior Management Team, the Assistant Headteacher (Learning and Teaching) shares overall responsibility for the smooth running of the School. Each member of the SMT has their own specific responsibilities and lead strategically in the area for which they are responsible. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking the strategic lead on developing and implementing innovative practice in all aspects of learning and teaching in the School, including the continuing professional development and appraisal of teaching staff in order to secure the highest quality outcomes for all pupils. We shall appoint a leader who has vision and is not afraid of always looking for ways in which the School can improve. They will be an outstanding teacher, in any subject discipline, who can analyse educational developments, determine what is appropriate for our pupils and staff, and successfully implement change.
