This is a Learning Support Assistant role that will put you into challenging, sometimes Anti-Social contexts that will build your foundations of experience. With this LSA role starting after, de-escalation and the language around it is incredibly important! This is a specialist school where empathy and pragmatism are key.

Restorative Practice, pragmatism and positive reinforcement will be key skills in this LSA role. The role specialises in working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues and Wellness concerns. The children you are raising attainment with are between the ages of 7-17, all have EHCPs and will need to continue their education once they leave the school.

Engaging parents, guardians and the community is a role that the school plays role.

Behaviour is only one aspect of this role, it is imperative that you have the academic skill to be able to raise academic attainment across a number of areas. Computing, Lego Therapy, PE and the Performative Arts are all incredibly important here, there is a real holistic approach and feeling within this brand this specialist provision in Bedfordhsire.

The LSA role will give you experience in safeguarding and assessment of what rehabilitation students require to be empowered back into mainstream education. It is important to understand, where the children are coming from and what traumas they have been through and the importance of clear objectives being set for them, making them feel valued within education in the process.

This LSA role is not for everyone; you must be sincere about your objectives and know why you are an aspiring psychologist or Social Justice Officer.
