Bakehouse assistants required for our clients in Lewdown
Successful applicants will be involved in all aspects of the production process including food preparation, baking, packing, labelling and cleaning.
Duties
-To prepare ingredients where applicable to the required quantities to enable the production of a wide range of products as specified on the daily bake list.
-To use prepared ingredients for the production of the full range of products produced by the Bakehouse and for this production to be done to a high standard and also within pre-set production times.
-To pack and box were applicable products in a timely manner and to place these items in either the stock rooms or when required into delivery vehicles to enable drivers to commence their delivery schedules in a timely manner.
-Stock taking, storage of stock and ordering, incl. checking of deliveries.
- To notify the bakery supervisor when stock items are running low.
-To assist in ensuring a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and food hygiene.
-To report any problems to the bakery supervisor.
-General kitchen duties incl. washing up, cleaning of the kitchen and equipment to include all work surfaces, floors and walls.
-To carry out any other tasks as required within the overall grade of the position.
Skills required
This is a practical role; common sense & manual dexterity are important.
The potential for prolonged standing and the ability to lift up to 16kgs or 25kgs with assistance.
The ability to work on own initiative and prioritise work schedules.
The ability to work as part of a team and to promote harmonious working relationships by recognising that everyone has a contribution to make.
A flexible and 'hands-on' approach in which, where necessary, all staff work in different parts of the Bakehouse
Full time and part time hours available
Multiple roles available on a temporary basis but will lead onto a permanent position for the right candidate
