We have a new exciting temporary position come up for a Purchaser in Poole. Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for planning and negotiation of materials, components, and equipment for the company. Good working knowledge of goods, services and sources are essential, to ensure on-time delivery and purchases at prices consistent with quality and quantity requirements.

General Tasks:

* Solid skills, which may include Sourcing, Supplier Quality, Contract Administration, Inventory Control, Supplier Selection and Technical Development, Transactional Management, attention to detail, and critical thinking and problem-solving capability.

* An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.

* Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast paced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment.

* Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, suppliers, and employees.

* Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.

* Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Knowledge Required:

* 2-5 years of progressive experience in professional materials position(s) is desired. Electronic component purchasing experience desired or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Solid knowledge of ERP systems.

* Computer skills -General MS-Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are mandatory.

* Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement is preferred.

* Ensures quality of all incoming & outgoing projects. Strong desire to seek out new alternatives and cost savings improvements.

Personal Specification/Essential Qualities:

You must be a self-motivated team player and able to multi-task, prioritize the workload and ability to work under pressure in meeting time schedules. You must have excellent negotiation and supplier interface skills. Moderate to advanced skills using Microsoft Word and Excel. Be a team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills
