Data Specialist (Sustainability)
The Data Specialist role:
We are looking for a technically minded individual with a keen eye for detail and great data skills.
You will be working in a small technical team contributing directly to software development, through specifications and testing. You will work with our customers to ensure their data is compatible with our systems and to deal with any issues they have. You will be analysing customer's data and providing recommendations to improve their housing stock.
This role is ideal for a bright, enthusiastic and ambitious individual who would like to progress their career within a busy technical team.
What you'll be doing as a Data Specialist
* Contributing to the design and specification of new and existing software products
* Conducting user acceptance testing of software products
* ???Applying technical skills to obtain, prepare and shape data
* ???Consolidating multiple data sources/raw data into a format that can be used by our software
* Proving guidance to customers to enable them to interpret their data
* ???Deal with day to day technical support queries for users of our software
* ???Working with team members to adapt to and achieve the business objectives
* Engaging with the wider company to understand the commercial drivers and use your skills and expertise to help the company succeed
As a Data Specialist we really need you to have the following knowledge
* Data cleansing and management skills
* Proven IT and mathematical skills, demonstrated through relevant qualifications or work experience
* Competent user of Office 365 in particular Excel
* Basic SQL query writing
We'd also like you to have
* A degree in a technical, science or engineering discipline
* An understanding of the software development lifecycle
* An interest in sustainability and helping organisations reduce their carbon emissions

* Ability to write comprehensive reports, technical specifications and articles
* Quick to pick up and learn new technologies
* Strong logical and creative thinking skills
* Quick to pick up and learn new software packages
* Ability to analyse and cleanse large data sets
* Proficiency in advising our customers on how best to manage their data
* A 'can do' attitude, solution focussed with innovative problem-solving ideas
* Able to self-motivate and work on your own initiative whilst managing your time in order to meet deadlines and objectives
* Comfortable talking to colleagues such as sales, business development, training team members as well as our customers. Able to explain your thoughts in a non-technical manner as well as interpret their ideas into technical requirements
* Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy

Intelligent Energy is our core product, launched in 2019. Our products help these organisations develop strategies to reduce their carbon emissions and improve the lives of their residents by reducing their energy costs. Users of our software can calculate the energy efficiency of their housing stock as well as view their data and possible improvements through over 100 interactive charts. This enables the user to identify data anomalies and use the data quality indicator to spot gaps in their data. Our software integrates with all the major housing asset management systems and also links to third party data sources.
