MASS is looking for an experienced Proposal Writer to join our busy but friendly central Bid Management Team. You'll have the opportunity to work on an interesting and diverse range of proposals, producing professional content that clearly articulates MASS' value propositions.
We're looking for someone who is keen to make an impact from the start, can work with a range of stakeholders and is used to working to tight deadlines. We're an ambitious company with exciting plans for the future and this role will play a key part in our success.
Experience
Proven skills in producing and editing proposal content within a complex business environment. You'll be able to lead storyboard/content planning sessions and solicit knowledge from Subject Matter Experts. With obsessive attention to detail, you will have the ability to transfer complex information into compelling proposal narrative.
Core Responsibilities
* Lead content planning sessions with bid team members and key stakeholders
* Proactively develop compelling content provided by subject matter experts (using a variety of techniques such as 'interviews' to obtain information).
* Assist the Bid Manager in developing proposal structure
* Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant
* Deliver completed written proposal responses to the Bid Manager against agreed deadlines, escalating issues as required
* Re-write / edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from business development, technical / product teams, innovation and delivery
* Ability to coach internal stakeholders in writing best practice
* The successful candidate will be required to update existing content within MASS' knowledge base system.
Essential
* Demonstrable experience of working within a busy team in a fast-moving, commercial environment working to tight deadlines
* Ability to communicate and influence at a senior level
* Strong time management / prioritisation skills
* Degree educated (ideally English Literature) or journalistic / professional writing background.
* Advanced MS Word skills & proficient in MS Office.
Desirable
* Ability to use and update proposal automation software (or similar)
* Certified to APMP Foundation or Practitioner Level.
