Creative Support is a national, fast growing not-for-profit organisation providing support to individuals with a wide range of care needs. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Welfare Rights and Appointeeship Officer to our Housing and Welfare Rights Team based in our Head Office in Stockport.

The Housing and Welfare Rights Team provide a warm, friendly and responsive service to all clients supported by Creative Support. Offering support and guidance to clients, staff and partner agencies on matters relating to tenancies, housing law, welfare benefits advice and budgeting.

Client Finance Officers are empathetic people with a passion for helping vulnerable adults improve and maintain their quality of life, through the effective maximisation of benefits and budgeting skills. You will be positive and accountable, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients, staff, families and partner agencies. An interest in financial inclusion and specifically the DWP benefit systems is essential, with some knowledge of the benefits system, and of the current welfare reform and its potential impact on vulnerable adults. You will need to be self-motivated with a keen interest in rules and regulations and how we can use this knowledge for the benefit of our clients.

You would be working within a busy and diverse Head Office team based in Stockport town centre, and you will be responsible for a caseload of appointeeships, managing the benefit claims and budgeting for a number of vulnerable adults who do not have capacity to do this for themselves. You should be motivated, organised and able to meet deadlines. An approachable and confident nature is essential as and you expected to communicate clearly with clients, staff and other partner agencies. You should not be averse to dealing with sometimes challenging and / or emotional cases, and you will demonstrate professionalism and empathy as necessary.
