HGV Driver

Thomas Ash & Sons is currently recruiting 1 x HGV Driver

• Part of this job is to work on call every second week but this will be home based with a car transporter so you must have parking nearby.
• Applicants should have some basic mechanicial knowledge
• Main duties will be to provide Car, Light Commercial recovery and limited roadside assistance to the general public and trade.
• Applicants need to stay approximately no more than 8 to 10 miles from our depot (G32 6AS) due to specific etas.
• Full training will be given for the vehicle recovery aspect of the job 6 to 8 weeks normally.
• Our company does not carry out long distance recovery and operate a relay service
• 28 Days Holiday per year , either Christmas or New Year off

Shifts are off call week : Monday to Thursday 09:00 to Friday 17:00 hrs (40 hrs )

Shifts on call week : are as above but you are on standby by after these hrs and on stand by all weekend but home based and PAID a call out fee for ALL jobs.

Regular overtime

In addition to this you will also be providing roadworks recovery on the main trunk roads
