Fixed Term Contract - Up to 12 Months

Everyone's Turning Point is unique. It's the moment when they realise they've made a small, but important, step forward. Very often, that small step is the start of something bigger. But only when the right support, advice and services are in place.

At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with substance misuse. As a Recovery Coordinator, you'll make a real difference to their lives as you develop the personal, flexible and realistic support packages they need to help turn things around. Passionate about people, you'll enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life too, as you make the role your own as part of a friendly and multidisciplinary team.

Running health facilities and services on a not-for-profit basis, we invest every penny back into our care - and our people. So, if you're ambitious and focused on substance misuse, progress a Recovery Coordinator career with real value.

Role Responsibility

The day to day duties of a Recovery Coordinator include:

Developing strength-based recovery plans with individuals that are; comprehensive, person-centred and individualised based on a clear assessment of that individual's needs and circumstances.
Involving individuals and their family/advocates in the planning of the individual's care.
Completing accurate, person-centred and individualised risk assessments.
Reflecting the structure and aims of SM's Models of Psychosocial Interventions.

Raising the bar for people-centred care, you'll provide advice and information to service users. Of course, that means not only putting their wellbeing first, but providing an outstanding service for their families too. People's lives will be truly changed by you, as you must be able to build rapport quickly with clients and be able to motivate clients to make appropriate decisions.

We'll offer the chance to thrive on a wide range of challenges as you build relationships throughout every stage of their recovery. From recognising indicators of substance misuse, providing harm reduction advice and psychosocial interventions, to working closely with healthcare professionals such as GPs and social services, your dedication will make a better future possible.

Hours of Work will generally be Monday-Friday between the hours of 9-5, although some degree of flexibility is required to support a weekly late night clinic on a rota basis.

This role requires a high level of administration, organisation and time management. These skills are just as important as your people skills and client work as you will be responsible for the coordination and navigation of individuals care.

The Ideal Candidate

Having handled a significant caseload in a busy environment as a Recovery Coordinator or similar, you'll have a good understanding of substance misuse, complex needs and the Recovery Agenda. It's an extremely varied role, so flexibility and knowledge of relapse and other barriers to recovery will be vital. Naturally, we also look for Recovery Coordinators with excellent communication skills, ideally, a vocational qualification, such as an NVQ 3 or equivalent. We welcome applications from those who have managed a caseload in other fields but can demonstrate substance misuse knowledge.

It is also desirable that you hold a full UK driving license and have access to your own transport.
