What will you do

IT Business Lead aligns business and IT objectives, lead overall engagement between business stakeholders and the IT community, formulate synthesized business capability and technology advancement strategies, and are accountable for successful provisioning of all IT services and investments to achieve outcomes for their stakeholders. This role reports in to IT Director, UK&I and iREF EMEA. The position operates within a matrixed IT Operating Model in which the IT Business Lead is accountable for the outcomes of a comprehensive set of IT services utilized to enable the business. These IT services are operated by leveraged IT teams, managed centrally across the enterprise. The managers of these IT services teams are responsible for running the day-to-day operations of these teams. The IT services teams are: IT Operations, IT Solution Delivery, Information Security, and Program Management Office (PMO).

The role will be focused on mobilizing and leading cross-functional IT teams in the execution of IT M&A projects or any other assigned projects within rigorous transaction time frames. The IT business lead will ensure the successful delivery of IT M&A projects for assigned- merger, acquisition, JV formation, and divestiture activities with a primary focus on the application/infrastructure systems integration/separation.

The IT M&A Integration Lead role offers a unique opportunity to drive significant impact across the group by playing a key role spearheading the IT integration of acquired businesses into the group IT strategy. This role focuses on supporting the executive IT leadership team in planning and executing the due diligence, pre- and post-merger integration phases of an acquisition or strategic partnership. The Integration Lead should provide guidance to the acquisition team during all the phases and ensure all integration activities are clearly defined and delivered to time and budget.

This person needs both the organizational and communication skills to work in an executive and high paced environment. The lead will need a high level of technical acumen to steer the right activities and at the right time and know how to effectively execute on the Information Technology integration working with various technical specialists.

The lead will have the opportunity to work with the different IT leadership teams, keeping them informed throughout while identifying and managing projects and risks with hands-on approach. He or She must also be a leader with a high level of emotional intelligence who will be able to navigate through multiple cultures and different styles of leaders throughout the acquisition process.

This role will help accelerate the UKI M&A integration for previous, current & future acquisitions. The individual in this role must have a strong understanding of Infrastructure, Applications and have extensive experience in program & project management, creating & implement M&A IT playbook, IT Cost Analysis, IT Due diligence, IT Integration planning & Integration

How you will do it

• Provide an effective interface between business and IT organisations throughout delivery and BAU solution lifespan to ensure maximized realization of anticipated business benefits. Proactively identify the areas of IT service improvement to continue shifting perception of IT towards positive end of spectrum.
• Conducting and managing the application and infrastructure due diligence, write reports for potential M&A deals, help establish IT M&A program One-time & Run cost estimates.
• Coordinate and utilize resources for multiple projects in the program as needed
• Establish, maintain and explain the program methodology, procedures and policies, consistently within the Enterprise PMO and M&A rules and guidelines.
• Acting as IT M&A Integration Technical lead overseeing the initial IT integration planning and execution from beginning to end.
• Creating the initial integration project milestones, interdependencies and communication plans.
• Working with M&A business leads to ensure allocation and prioritization of shared resources.
• Defining infrastructure transition plans, activities and contingency plans.
• Defining the short term and mid-term IT infrastructure architecture. Involves taking the technical direction from each IT department and defining the holistic solution, and then executing across those departments to achieve the stated goals.
• Report and communication on progress and provide regular updates to the Executive Leadership Team and various M&A Steering committees.
• Managing the level of risk in the project and implementing effective change control.
• Share IT M&A best practice with other IT members across the Regions to build regional/internal knowledge.
• Organize cross-projects work within the program.
• Utilise high-level business process and IT system architectures (current, interim, and target states) to guide business process, capability, and technology advancement strategies and roadmaps, partnered with business stakeholders and enterprise IT colleagues (ex: Office of CTO).
• This person must be a skilled communicator since the role interacts with all levels inside and outside the organization
• Align IT Integration plan with annual IT investment portfolio for business segment/unit/function in alignment with budgetary thresholds, business priorities, and IT strategies.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery efforts, including creation of business impact analyses.

• Extensive IT experience with a proven track record in business facing and management positions
• Solid IT general management skills (organizational, financial, and operational management)
• Exceptional management and leadership skills to achieve tangible outcomes in a heavily matrixed management environment
• Related IT and business experience with broad understanding of the IT industry, with an ability to express technical matters to a non-technical audience.
• The individual in this role must have a strong understanding of Infrastructure, Applications and have extensive experience in program & project management, creating & implementing M&A IT playbook, IT Cost Analysis, IT Due diligence, IT Integration planning & completion.
• Proven project/programme management experience on integration projects, with formal program and project management qualifications preferred.
• Exercising technical and leadership skills in a matrix environment.
• Experience of building and managing effective stakeholder relationships at different levels of an organization.
• Thorough knowledge of IT concepts, strategies & methodologies combined with solid understanding of end to end business processes. Particularly aware of the interdependencies of infrastructure/application environment and process/people onboarding.
• Track record of leveraging internally and externally sourced IT services

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering; a Master's in Business Administration or Technology Management is preferred
• Solid experience in ERP systems consolidation & migration (especially Oracle) and cloud technologies deployment and convergence across businesses
