We are currently recruiting a people centric and results driven Finance Analyst to join our Finance team in Ashford, Kent.
The role:

Reporting to the Head of Finance - Central, the role has the responsibility for:

• Supporting the business on all financial property related matters.
• Monitoring and reporting on all Brakes customer rebate liabilities.
• Execution and continuous improvement of financial controls and reporting.
• Providing insight and adding value in the Controls Team function. The Finance Analyst must possess the ability to manage complex reporting with a variety of inputs and to identify and resolve any issues identified.
The successful candidate will be the primary Financial Controls contact for a variety of different stakeholders of both finance and non-finance backgrounds.
Accountabilities

Property:

• Business Partner the UK Real Estate team on all property related matters. Including attending monthly property meetings and communicating any financial impact relating to site changes to relevant teams in the business.
• Ensure Purchase orders are raised, processed, and paid in a timely manner for Rent and Business Rates across the UK business and inline with UK and Scottish Rent quarters obligations per our lease terms.
• Responsible for ensuring the property dilapidations and onerous provisions are accurately calculated and maintained in the accounts.
• Support the fixed asset team in verifying the IFRS16 lease postings related to property and working with the Functional Accounting Europe team to ensure property lease changes are accurately reflected in Costar.
• Reconciling the property control accounts including posting monthly journal recharges.
• Prepare rent and business rates fixed cost budgets. Customer Rebates:

• Prepare and distribute customer rebate reports on a monthly basis to the business and support any queries.
• Review the customer rebate balances to ensure accuracy, liaise with the rebate team, and ensure regular housekeeping. Investigating and resolving any posting errors.
• Authorise and maintain the customer upfront payment schedule, including correctly amortising the position in line with customer trading agreements. Other

• Ownership and complete understanding of the property and customer rebate balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support the implementation of business simplification and continuous improvement of the financial control environment.
• Support the Head of Finance with cross functional projects to deliver systems and process improvements, ensuring a robust platform for the future. You:

Required skills and competencies:

• Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
• The candidate should have previous experience of working in a fast-paced commercial environment
• Analytical Thinking - applying logical, methodical approaches to problem solving
• High attention to detail and a focus on getting things right first time
• High level of competency in financial analysis and modeling
• Enthusiastic with a can-do attitude
• Engages and motivates others to meet their objectives
• Advanced MS Excel

Desirable

• Knowledge of SAP and BW / MIS
• Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) experience
• Experience and understanding of the foodservice industry
