We are now looking for a Production Planner to join our team in Southampton for a six month fixed term contract.

The Role
As a Production Planner, you will be tasked with generating the weekly production plan to ensure we can meet our targets and deliver on demand.
Basing your plan on manufacturing capacity and sales demand, you will work alongside the Production, Operations and Customer Care teams to ensure a realistic schedule is both in place and executed.
Your role will also involve:
- Communicating the manufacturing plan to all relevant departments
- Ensuring customer orders are shipped within agreed promised dates
- Producing and maintaining a suite of metrics to monitor production performance against the plan
- Acting as the point of contact between Customer Care and Manufacturing teams
- Monitoring production processes and adjust schedules as required
- Reporting any problems to the Production Manager
- Ensuring scheduling is accurate based on planned deliveries of raw materials
- Making sure production time is planned efficiently and reducing "time loss" where possible
- Ensuring raw material waste is kept to a minimum through efficient planning
About You
To be considered as a Production Planner, you'll need:
- Previous experience in a scheduling, planning or material co-ordination role
- Experience within supply chain and/or manufacturing
- An excellent general level of computer literacy including MS Excel and Outlook
- To be a proactive and flexible team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to problem-solve and adapt at short notice
- To be able to work to and deliver against tight deadlines
- The ability to remain calm, can perform and can succeed in high pressure situations
- An optimistic and helpful attitude with a desire to get tasks completed to schedule
Familiarity with stock control software such as SAGE would be highly desirable.
