Taskmaster in Huddersfield are looking for an experienced HR assistant for a 12 week contract at the University of Huddersfield. 37 hrs per week, 12 week contract.
Information about home working:
"With effect from Monday 5 July, HR will be returning to campus, working in 2 groups on a rota basis. Group 1 will be working 3 days on campus, 2 days at home, followed by 3 days at home and 2 days on campus the following week; group 2 will work the opposite pattern and the pattern will be repeated until the end of August. We are not yet sure which group this position will fall into. We are then expecting that we will be based full-time on campus from September, but this hasn't been confirmed as yet and all plans for our return to campus are subject to guidance at the time. "
Job Purpose:
To provide an effective reception service for the HR department, ensuring excellent customer service at all times and providing administrative support for a range of activities within the HR department.
1. Greet all visitors to reception in a friendly and helpful manner.
2. Respond to enquiries into the HR inbox in a friendly, helpful and timely manner.
3. Produce contractual documentation.
4. Produce correspondence on a range of issues; distribute and file all correspondence, contracts, reports etc. and maintain electronic files for all University staff.
5. Regularly check probation reports and also FHEA status for academic employees, producing appointment confirmation letters as appropriate and alerting the HR Managers to cases of concern.
6. Process interview arrangements and notify applicants of these.
7. Undertake appropriate checks for eligibility for employment in compliance with legislation and relevant regulations
8. Carry out all administrative processes relating to the appointment of hourly paid employees. Create records for new employees and produce contractual documentation.
9. Use the University's financial system to check and pay invoices, order stationery and other supplies as required and pay monthly credit card bills.
10. On a monthly basis, update our vacancy information in accordance with our retention policy.
11. Maintain up to date knowledge and skills through participation in training and development.
12. Undertake any other duties within the remit of the role and commensurate with the grade, as required
