I am severely disabled with Motor Neurone Disease and I am looking for an energetic, experienced care worker to join my care team for two 12 hour day shifts per week.

( recruiting now to start training to replace care worker leaving in mid June)

I need help everything, washing, dressing, feeding, hoisting on and off the toilet/wheelchair/bed and general input during the day to help me to do my activities. I am extremely speech impaired and use an Eyegaze device to communicate with and write emails etc. I need people who can read my body language and this can be learned in time. Experience is necessary, especially with hoisting and general moving and handling because I cannot speak to tell you what to do, you must have experience of how to care for someone in a wheelchair. I am no longer able to train someone from scratch, although full training will be given by my other carers.

I also like to go out and a Clean driving license would be aessential, also experience of driving in the UK. I have an accessible vehicle and you might be asked to accompany me on occasional holidays.

Pay is up to GBP17.50 an hour, depending on experience and is paid monthly by PAYE. Pay will include holidays pro rata. I have a small dog that likes to be walked and the position is non smoking. Please send your CV and a recent photo.

East Europeans especially welcome to apply
