Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Caseworker to join Cheshire West and Chester Council's Special Educational Needs Department on a temporary basis. This contract is initially for 3 months, working 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday).

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Interpreting and informing on all SEN statutory matters and best practise

* Dealing with routine and non-routing enquiries relating to the SEN matters, using discretion in forming responses

* Advising and supporting parents, young people and their carers so that they are able to make informed decisions

* Undertaking casework as appropriate to ensure SEN assessment and monitoring processes are implemented

* Supporting and assisting the SEN Management Team with administrative functions

* Maintaining the SEN database with confidential and sensitive information


* Experience of working in an SEN or Education environment

* Knowledge of legislation and regulation relating to Education issues

* Effective communication skills

* Ability to use Pupil Database Systems, Microsoft Office, and other IT packages
