Becoming an Automation Tester (Integration)

Our client has developed a state-of-the-art cloud-based integration service, Conexes, to enable them to rapidly provision cost effective integration for customers using their systems across health care, social care, and education. To support this vision, they are seeking an experienced Automation Tester to join the team.

You will be responsible for shaping the way they automate their testing strategy and will have the opportunity to work with many technology stacks, vendors, and projects at both local and national level.

The Main Accountabilities:

* Requirements analysis and refinement of test cases

* Design and develop automation scripts when needed using SOAPUI/ POSTMAN and Spec flow

* Creation of functional system / regression / stress test cases / test plans and procedures as well as the creation and maintenance of test and environment data and documentation of test results

* Analysing users' stories and/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility

* Collaborate closely with other team members, departments, and external stakeholders.

* Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression)

* Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies.

* Own the assurance processes both internal and external associated with accreditation.

* Work with Teams to ensure that the tests are incorporated into the CI pipelines.

The Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

* Strong background with automated testing of APIs & Good understanding of the principles behind API (Application Programming Interfaces) development.

* Good understanding of SOAP/Rest API's

* Ability to design and develop automation scripts SOAP/POSTMAN and spec flow.

* Experience of writing automated test cases using Cucumber and / or Spec Flow frameworks.

* Proven experience of setting up an Automated Test Suite

* Understands the defect lifecycle.

* Demonstrable Agile/Scrum experience

* Knowledge of structured test methods, processes, and Manual Testing

* A keen eye for detail and the ability to understand testing requirements.

* Exposure to SQL and database testing is desirable.

* Understanding of CI/CD development environments (Integrating automation testing) is advantageous.

* Flexibility to travel to Sheffield once a month for team meetings.
