We are looking for an Account Manager for our Industrial portfolio covering the South and South East of England, on a full-time, permanent basis.

In your role as an Account Manager for Avantor, you will relentlessly develop strong, sustainable relationships with your existing customer base, utilising your extensive knowledge of portfolio to build solutions that are unique to each customer and their requirements.

You will already have sales experience with a history of high achievement and high-level negotiation with customers within the industry and a relevant understanding of the market dynamics.

You will be accountable for all sales activities, from lead generation through closing, in an assigned territory using a formal selling approach.

One of your responsibilities will be for identifying priority accounts and agreeing on strategies and tactics for high growth opportunities. You will work closely with the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with the company's business strategy.

What you'll do on a typical day:

* Increase competitive advantage and drive customer satisfaction by building trust and developing strong relationships. Add value in every interaction by working together with customers and internal teams to develop beneficial solutions for their business.

* Provide higher and differentiating value not by what you sell - but by 'How' you sell.

* Meet/exceed IOP for sales and margin. Develop awareness / sales in the VWR Private Label range to increase margin.

* Demonstrate strategic agility in your approach to customers and projects (solutions must be tailored to meet individual customer needs). Implement agreed strategies across defined accounts while maintaining and developing existing business.

* Drive new and existing opportunities by managing your territory appropriately to maximise the number of customer visits. Call customers frequently to create opportunities for selling the VWR portfolio of products. Understand customer profile, be able to identify trends and opportunities that will generate sales.

What you'll need to succeed:

* We're looking for someone with commercial experience building relationships and selling to customers, ideally either the chem/ biopharma.

* You'll demonstrate clear ability to confidently engage with people at all levels of organisations and a strong work ethic, who is independently driven and can work remotely.

* You possess excellent organisational skills, can work collaboratively with other members of the team to manage a growing pipeline of relationships and opportunities within a clearly defined sales process.
