Groundworks Contracts Manager

Salary: Upwards of GBP50,000 + Package and experience dependant
Location: Office Location is Chelmsford. However, the site locations will vary.

PC Groundworks (South East) is a groundworks and civils company that is a supporting company of Poppet Construction based in the heart of Chelmsford. We are expanding the business across Essex, London, Kent and Cambridge and we are now in need of an experienced Contracts Manager working towards General manager to run groundwork and civil contracts. The Contracts Manager/ Groundworks General Manager will directly manage our labour force consisting of groundworks and working foreman. Working alongside the commercial and senior management team.

Here's some key role and responsibilities for the role of Groundworks General Manager;

* Managing and administrating groundwork contracts including site visits.

* Attending and recording minutes from pre-start, tender and operational meetings.

* Recording variations.

* Recording any delays.

* Aiding the QS with monthly applications and pricing of variations

* Administering delay and early warning notices.

* Managing Labour, Plant and Material requirements daily

* Drafting contract programmes and making sure they are administrated.

* Dealing with supplier and Client disputes

* Making sure that quality and specification is always achieved on every project

* Build to drawings.

* Raise RFI's and track outstanding information

* Aiding in setting out.

* Business Development

* Issuing weekly reports as well as preparing and issuing Progress Reports to clients

* Taking on site measures

* Reviewing H&S Documentation and implementing/maintaining H&S policies and procedures

* Document Control

* Working along side the commercial and senior management team.

* Can work under pressure and achieve deadlines.

The minimum requirements and key character points we are looking for in our new Groundworks General Manager:

?? At Least 10 years' experience or more at a Contracts Manager/ Project Manager level within the groundworks and civils industry with specific knowledge of all substructure and civils works.
?? You will be required to manage your own workflow which will include attending weekly team meetings both in the office and on sites.
?? CSCS Card (additional tickets/cards will be advantageous) Black
?? SMTS
?? First Aid
?? Driving License
?? Working knowledge of Asta or Project Planner programme software.
?? Degree Educated is highly advantageous, but not essential.
?? Open mind, strong team leader and good work ethic
?? Positive can do attuite and realistic view on projects.
?? Punctual & Hard working
?? Communicate well through all levels of the business.
?? Strong IT Skills (Word, Excel & Outlook)
?? Passion for the groundworks industry.
?? Passion to do better and achieve more.
?? Ideally based in the Chelmsford area.
