Based in Ribbleton, Preston, my very successful client is on the lookout for an experienced Customer Service Manager to join their business and implement leadership managing a small team. This will be a varied and busy role which will involve extensive interaction both internal to the company and with customers.

The candidate will be responsible for developing customer relationships and assisting to meet their needs. There will be a strong focus on facilitating export of products and working with the sales department to maximise opportunities.

The role includes:

  • Working closely with the sales team, handling sales enquiries and being responsible for ensuring orders are accurately processed from receipt through to accurate invoicing with their team.
  • Stock allocation and monitoring of contracts - ensuring Sales Manager is updated accordingly.
  • Will be responsible for follow up calls to customers with regards to sample requests and quotes given.
  • Working closely with colleagues both on UK and Danish sites, including managing inter-company transactions.
  • Liaising with production managers to ensure that products are made and available for when the customer requires - also partaking in scheduling meetings.
  • Work with Purchasing to ensure they are aware of the requirement for additional raw materials.
  • Work with the warehouses to ensure product is available and dispatched in a timely manner.
  • Produce and be in control of all export shipping documentation required, accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
  • Internal coordination to ensure the company is aware of products for export, and to ensure stock allocation and documentation - including Commercial Invoices are completed in a timely manner
  • Close liaison with the Technical department to ensure all products are traced and ready for review.

My client is looking for:

  • Someone with a proactive approach to work, who will offer the highest levels of customer service and will be confident with dealing with people both face to face and over the telephone.
  • Ability to manage a small team and provide strong leadership and guide their team to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Someone who has experience in Customer Service Management, preferably from within the food industry.
  • A confident individual who is hands on concerning problem solving in a small business environment.
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills are a necessity, as are planning abilities and an understanding of the relationships between the various functions within a business allied with professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and make decisions and be able to deal with multiple tasks simultaneously to meet daily job requirements.
  • They will have exceptional organisational skills, a natural can-do attitude and great attention to detail.
  • Exceptionally strong computer skills are essential including, but not restricted to, Excel, PowerPoint and general Microsoft packages. An ability to embrace new systems and learn new software quickly.
  • The suitable candidate must have a professional approach. The candidate also needs a clean driving licence and a valid passport.

Hours - Monday to Friday

8:30am - 5:00pm

40 hours per week

Salary: GBP26,000 - GBP28,000 per annum - dependent on candidate
