IT Team Leader
Working within the medical scientific industry this Team Leader role will be managing a team of 6 software engineers. The perfect candidate will have a strong IT technical background (java, C#, Oracle) and will be looking for a role that offers exposure to people management.
Primary Duties
* To review new practices, technologies, and innovations with respect to improving business processes
* To provide effective Team Leadership, development, and motivation to a team of Software Engineers within the Information Systems Group
* To ensure effective staff training, development, and mentoring is undertaken and to motivate direct reports and others within the group
* To undertake performance management for the team on an ongoing basis
* To ensure the effective design and timely delivery of software
* To programme manage projects that are the direct responsibility of the team and to assist the Head of the IT department in overall project prioritisation
* Respond to users' requests for bug fixes and systems changes in line with procedures. Design and test appropriate software fixes
* To deliver on agreements or provide exception reporting to the requester and other stakeholders
* Ensuring frequent updates as to progress and delays
Knowledge and skills needed:
* Strong background with project management, people management, team leader experience
* Strong IT Technical knowledge - Java, c# and/or Oracle
* Strong project management and analytical skills
* Ability to work with conflicting priorities
Desirable qualities - Linus, Oracle, SQL, Java, Python, MS Excel, .NET
