Office Manager - part time

Job description

This is an exciting newly created position that will suit a self-motivated individual that does not mind working in a small team and on occasionally on their own, who is numerate, thorough, and flexible. You need to be methodical and enjoy problem solving. You must have an eye for detail and are friendly, hard working and honest. A knowledge of the import export process would be a help but not essential.

This role is supporting the MD almost in an office manager type role, getting involed in all aspects of the business as it expands and develops.

This is initially a part time role for a small developing import business that could extend, if desired by the candidate. We are looking for an anchor who can grow with us, you must be reliable and responsible.

If there is the opportunity to modernise ways of working with technology, then we are strongly in favour.

Initially the role will be ideally working mornings Monday to Friday expanding as needed. Possibly some flexibility for the right person.

20-25 hours per week

The role will entail working with accounts package Quickbooks online. A use of Excel, Word and the Web, and being technology savy is essential.

Role

?? Managing the Import & Logistics process

?? Managing all logistical elements to the business.

?? Profitability assessment and cross-checking costs

?? Working with HMRC to manage Tariff Classification.

?? Following up on payments, placing invoices on system and purchase orders.

?? Liaison with brand design company, re packaging & web

?? Liaison with Accountant and Legal side

?? Organise communication with foreign suppliers for queries and inspection checks.

?? Organisation of all paperwork where necessary and filing

?? Assisting MD with day-to-day tasks of running of the business.

?? Purchasing of stock.

?? Checking customer credit ratings/payment profile and their accounts on our Creditsafe system to see if they are creditworthy customer.
