Shift Production Technician (Extrusion)

Experienced in extrusion? If so we now have a great opportunity for a Shift Production Technician to join our business in Huntingdon. The position is being offered with a salary of circa GBP37,000 including shift allowance (we operate a 12 hour shift rotation days/nights).

Interested? We're looking for an experienced extrusion Technician with a proactive Lean/CI mindset to effectively utilise equipment and technical process to meet customer quality, and demand. Responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring line Pre-start process is completed fully and accurately
• Ensuring product output is to the required standard, with minimal rejections
• Maintaining best possible material yield performance, by challenging product cut length, maintaining accurate Rollepaal system calibrations, use of the Avery weigh system and product concentricity
• Proactively maintaining Health & Safety Standards
• Ensuring House Keeping standards are maintained
• Maintaining first level maintenance schedule, including completion of associated paperwork systems
• Proactively seeking to identify improvements to the production process and communicating findings
• Covering Team Leader absence, with responsibility for site security, and ensuring activities of shift engineers and the Compounding Dept. meet production plans

Could this be you? If you have experience of the following we'd love to hear from you:

• Knowledge of laboratory procedures, including sample testing
• Operating of material handling systems (Braby and ABS)
• Changing of tooling, including extensions
• Supplying and challenging of process information; to enable the maintenance of the Process Sheet Database.
• Seeking out improvements to the extrusion process, leading improvements and presenting training activities
• Issuing PPE equipment, using associated paperwork systems
• Maintaining best possible yield performance by challenging standard outputs
