The Company:

An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client an established housing provider in the UK. My client is an established housing provider with a generic housing management and supported housing services.

The Role:

My client is looking for a Tenancy Support Worker on an initial three-month contract with the view to an extension based in Nottinghamshire.

This is a full-time role 37.5 Hours (Monday - Friday)

Pay rate for this role is 10.00 PAYE OR GBP12.40 Umbrella

Candidate will require a full UK Drivers License and access to a vehicle too.

This role is community based and will require travelling around Nottinghamshire to support customers in their homes. This is a fast-paced service.

Mileage will be paid at 0.45p per mile

The patch they cover will have 15-17 tenants.

Candidate will also require an enhanced DBS.

Day to day duties will include:

  • As a Tenancy Support Worker, you will offer support to customers to enable them to maintain their homes and maximise their income.
  • You will provide support, which will be to help the organisations tenants sustain their tenancies and manage their finances effectively.
  • The ideal candidate needs an understanding of maximising tenant income and applying for welfare benefits and a good understanding of housing related support and experience of working with vulnerable people.
  • You will also need to be an advocate for our tenants when necessary, by bringing in other support, care and health providers.
  • As a Tenancy Support Worker, you will be visiting customers or supporting them over the phone - getting a clear picture of their circumstances and developing support plans to help them achieve agreed goals.
  • An important part of your role will be liaising with the DWP, Local Authority as well as national charities, trusts and funds.
  • Furthermore, you will be maintaining clear communication across all internal departments so everyone within the organisation is able to track the customers progress and shape their own work accordingly.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have previous experience of having worked as a Tenancy Support worker or in a similar capacity for an established housing provider or a local authority, including:

  • Experience of working within a customer-focused role, adept at building relationships with great negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Supporting tenants with housing related support, from budgeting, payment plans to welfare and benefits advice.
  • Provider, with an understanding of relevant environmental and social issues.
  • Tech savvy, you will be comfortable with our digital first approach and confident in the use of IT systems
