An exciting opportunity for an ICT Support Technician to work for Norfolk Police.
Role: ICT Support Technician (2nd Line Support)
Location: Wymondham, Norfolk (Flexibility of working from home)
Salary: GBP14.89 p/h
Duration: ASAP for 6 Months
37 Hours a week (Monday-Friday 8am-4pm/9am-5pm)
Principal purpose of the role
To build, administer, maintain and update various hardware, software and ICT systems to deliver the
required functionality whilst providing a customer focused experience.
Main activities of the role (This list is not exhaustive)
Install, maintain and configure ICT hardware and software
Assist with development of new build images including application and software packaging
Replace, upgrade and issue mobile/personal issue devices
Monitor, maintain and install ANPR Cameras both fixed and mobile
Competently carry out complex fault diagnostics of ICT hardware and software, to identify root cause and resolution
Review system monitoring tools, to identify trends and analysis to ensure service continuity
Maintain and update asset records, job progress, Active Directory and other relevant databases
Liaise and work with 3rd party suppliers
Support ICT Projects as required
Respond to customer requests within agreed timescales and escalate calls in jeopardy of failing service level targets to the Supervisor
Follow all agreed processes and procedures
Any other duties that are commensurate within the role and grade as maybe reasonably requested by management
Essential Criteria
Microsoft certified professional, or have proven experience of working within a desktop/communications support role
Proven experience in working within a Microsoft Windows software environment
Demonstrate an ability to perform advanced diagnostics when solving complex hardware & software issues.
Proven experience and ability to work as an effective team member and with limited supervision isolation when required
Demonstrate knowledge of maintaining ICT Asset registers
Ability to travel to multiple locations within Norfolk and Suffolk as required with a full driving licence to drive Force vehicles including category B, weighing up to 3,500kg.
Ability to work outside of normal office hours on a regular basis as part of an ICT on call rota.
Desirable Criteria
ITIL foundation V3
Electronics qualification
Knowledge of SCCM & MSI packaging
