We are currently looking for a experienced Materials Engineer for a major brownfield project.

Responsibilities will include:

Interrogate multiple sources of information to validate the existence of the tagged equipment
Data mine the various facility engineering libraries and / or contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to identify any equipment spare parts and interchangeability list (SPIL) that is specific to the equipment recognizing any modifications that may have alternated components from the original manufacturers specifications
Create an equipment Bill of Material (BoM) from the SPIL to cover credible repairs scenarios that can be undertaken by the facility maintenance team and contracting strategy
Escalate to the squad lead at the earliest opportunity challenges in getting the necessary information in the agreed time frames to look for alternative approaches
Previous experience coordinating spare parts preferably with materials operations
Must be technically minded - mechanical / operations & maintenance
Cataloguing experience and familiarization with the noun, modifier attribute formatting of materials
Understanding of SPIR/SPIL documents; Interchangeability of spares to tag/functional locations
Ability to interrogate Asset Lifecycle Information Management sources. Understanding of SAP MM desirable but not essential
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and extended office tools eg Teams, SharePoint
Prior use of SparesFinder (Sphera) software suites of products - Masterpiece / Finder or similar software
Material awareness - part supersession and obsolescence
Able to use initiative when sourcing spare parts and new vendors
