NHBC has an amazing opportunity for a Product Manager to join their Underwriting team based in Milton Keynes. The role of Product Manager is to develop and maintain the strategic plan for NHBC's core Buildmark and associated insurance products. In addition, the role leads the successful management of NHBC's insurance portfolio product lifecycle to ensure NHBC maintains effective product governance, insurance profitability and provides innovative solutions to meet market and customer needs to gain commercial and competitive advantage.

Strategy

Work with the Insight Manager to define market research programmes.

Utilise market and customer research and scanning to determine threats, opportunities and competitor propositions and determine customer need.

Develop and maintain a compelling product strategy, gaining approval and buy in for it across the business.

Maintain key customer relationships to inform product strategy.

Develop and implement insurance product pricing strategy.

Product Definition

Translate customer requirements into innovative and creative market leading product propositions and where appropriate develop business cases for change and investment.

Manage the product lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activity.

Ensure the product meets compliance and regulatory needs, including IDD.

Lead and manage product development programmes, specifying service delivery requirements across the business, including cross functional processes and support systems.

Ensure products are in line with NHBC business and brand strategy.

Work closely with delivery partners such as operational teams, business change, marketing, IT

Communication

Be an internal and external evangelist for the product set, including effective communications materials.

Develop and manage product and service delivery training programmes with marketing, relationships and sales staff and operational teams.

Stakeholder management, building relationships across the business and with key partners.

Product Marketing

Manage the marketing mix for the product to ensure business objectives are met.

Work with the Marketing Managers to ensure delivery of the marketing and product introduction plans.

Work closely with the Finance, Insurance and Pricing analysis teams to recommend pricing strategy.

Product Performance

Monitor product performance against objectives, report and make change recommendations as required.


About you

Demonstrable experience in developing and communicating insurance policy expertise.

Proven experience and expertise in a product management role, preferably having managed a product or service portfolio in a B2B or financial services environment.

Understanding of product management principles, including lifecycle management, pricing methodologies, product development and introduction

Excellent programme management, group facilitation and communication skills

Ability to write and deliver training courses and materials.

Ideally a graduate with a chartered business or marketing qualification

Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills

Knowledge and experience of the financial services sector

Salary & Benefits

GBP48,500.00 - GBP52,500.00 per annum (depending on experience)

Up to 10% performance related bonus.
