We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Andover. As an Operations Manager your role will be to lead and manage the Fabrication, Assembly and Warehouse teams, ensuring customers' needs are met by maintaining a high quality standard of product quality and delivery, while increasing capacity and improving company productivity and profitability.

Key duties and responsibilities...

* Ensure all operations are carried out in an efficient and cost-effective way.

* Drive productivity and grow capacity in the Assembly department to meet future demands.

* Ensure QA standards are monitored and upheld in association with the Technical Manager.

* Have knowledge of and be able to implement 5S, Kanban and Kaizen

* Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices.

* Help the organization's processes remain legally compliant.

* Manage budgets and forecasts.

* Develop and implement strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods and managing stock levels in conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager.


* To be pro-sales, solution-minded, have a positive can-do attitude with customers, and to be commercially astute.

* Proven track record of delivering productivity improvements in a previous manufacturing role.

* Previous experience of an Operations, Production or General Manager role within an SME growing business.

* To demonstrate strong leadership qualities, able to communicate effectively and give confidence to staff, colleagues, customers and suppliers when under pressure.

* Able to lead teams of staff to achieve outstanding results in productivity and timeliness in a rapidly growing business.

* Able to lead teams on a continuous improvements journey.

* Manufacturing/assembly industry knowledge and experience is essential.

* Able to understand and resolve technical issues creatively.

* Comfortable to be hands-on practically as well as with data and detail.

* Able to think strategically, manage seasonal demands and execute on plans.

* Experienced working in a business with turnover circa GBP30m

Monday - Friday based on a 40 hour week, with presence covering 2 shifts from 7am - 5pm


* Salary between GBP50,000 - GBP60,000 pre annum DOE
