Job description: Shift Technician

Department: Production

Location: Rugby

Summary of Role

Key areas of responsibility will surround the maintenance and general upkeep of Production machinery. To run and maintain equipment relating to the production of Cans and carrying out regular quality checks.

Ensure Health and Safety compliance and policies are adhered to.
Daily routine checks in relation to area of responsibility.
Continuous monitoring of equipment condition.
Carry out planned maintenance and ad-hoc maintenance along with Height / diameter changes such as on conversion days.
Carry out mechanical improvements in the process.
Support trials and new equipment installation and commissioning.
Spare monitoring
Housekeeping
FLT driving when required.
Quality checks
Keep to production targets
To conduct and assist in overhauls / projects
The use of Plant systems - Infinity and Apriso to aid Quality control, maintenance and problem solving.
Ensure Hygiene Management System compliance and policies are adhered to.Professional Requirements:

Qualification: Time served apprentice level or equivalent in engineering practices.

HND/HNC or equivalent is desirable, Electrical Qualification an advantage. FLT License or willing to train.

Computer Skills: MS Office packaging to include Word and Excel would be an advantage.

Personal Competencies:

Ability to demonstrate safe working practices
Good communicator, team worker and effective listener
Sound problem solving skills
Ability to demonstrate good decision making in a demanding fast paced environment.
Must be action orientated and a desire to achieve results / persevere.
Must be flexible and with appropriate training be willing to work in other areas to support team members, occasionally at short notice.
