Our client are designers and makers of bespoke luxury lighting, furniture and hardware for the world's most beautiful interior spaces. The company has grown substantially in recent years and is ready to invest to continue that growth. They have a strong market position and a team that work together creating bespoke pieces, mostly in non-ferrous materials.
They are currently looking for a Metal Worker to join their team in Eastbourne.
You will need to have experience in:
* Silver soldering and brazing
* General fabrication with non-ferrous metals
* Understand technical drawings
* Previous experience of working with castings desirable
* You must be able to work to deadlines & co-ordinate your work with other individuals & teams.

Key Responsibilities:
* Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
* Understand the requirement to adhere to standard times and report on any deviances.
* Experience in the use of all hand tools associated with metal work.
* Proficient in the use of the following equipment: Lathes, Mills, Band / Chop saws & Pillar drills.
* Ability to fabricate using the following methods Tig Welding, Silver Soldering and Brazing.
* Bending and forming metalwork.
* Use of Linishing equipment & preparation of metals for polishing.
* Must have attention to detail and the ability to finish a product to our client's specific tolerances and high-quality standards.
* To adhere to the Company Health and Safety policy and always wear appropriate PPE and use the safety equipment provided.
* Quality control, including supporting colleagues in avoiding/correcting mistakes.
* Liaise with colleagues to create and implement procedures to ensure expected growth.
* To carry out any other duty which may be required in line with operational requirements
* Every member of staff is expected to show respect to their colleagues and to understand and adhere to the Company's standards and values; they are also expected to work collaborative fashion and to support all the teams with which they have contact in achieving the Company's objectives.
Other requirements / responsibilities
* Experience of Pattern making
* Support in the development of trainee staff
* CAD knowledge would be desirable but not essential
* Communicate any missed deadlines to appropriate manager
* To always consider and work to the relevant EHS regulations and ISO standards and framework
* Highlight potential risks and opportunities to Directors
* Effectively communicate, both internally and to prospects, suppliers, clients, etc
* Pro-actively develop own skills, knowledge and experience, both of our industry and best practice within it and contribute to the development of colleagues wherever possible.
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday - 7.30am to 4pm - 40 hours (1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
Salary
GBP9.50 - GBP12.50 (depending on experience)
Holidays
20 days paid holiday per year plus Bank Holidays
