A legal 500 firm requires an Associate to join their Dispute Resolution Team based in Guildford on a permanent basis to handle all forms of commercial dispute resolution for commercial and private clients.
The role will be to work in conjunction with more senior fee earners on relevant cases, but also to build and develop your own case load as well as participate in the marketing of the Department by active participation in networking, seminar provision.
Main Duties include:
- To assist the department as a whole in meeting its fee earning targets by providing help, advice and assistance to clients of the Department, senior fee earners within the team and other Departments of the Firm.
- To deal with commercial litigation matters in all their forms, including court proceedings
- Management of support services, including supervision of own secretary if appropriate
- Participation in marketing activities whether on a firm-wide, departmental or office basis
- To utilise skills of any Department Trainee and to assist with the Trainee's training
- Financial control with particular regard to cash-flow control through collection of monies on account and billing procedures.
Experience Required:
- Previous experience in Commercial Dispute Resolution
- God working knowledge of the CPR
- Achieves targets set for Solicitors in respect of chargeable hours, fees, recovery rate, lock-up and non-chargeable time and is looking to progress
- Ideally (2-5PQE)
