The position is a Laboratory Chemist for an industrial chemical company that work within the food and feeds sector. My Client is a worldwide group of companies extending over 40 countries to provide professional inspection and laboratory analysis to business and government sectors.

The position is based commutable distances from Warrington, Manchester, Wigan, Chester, Wirral and similar NW locations.

The position comes with a GBP20-23k salary dependant on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

-Prepare and analyse samples of various commodities based on method requirement.

-Maintain and develop quality of analysis within QA/QC guidelines to ISO 17025:2017 standards.

-Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment/ instrumentation.

-Mentoring junior laboratory staff.

-Promote good awareness of Health and Safety regulations relating to Laboratory environment.

-Follow in house methodology accurately.

-Quality Control; process samples through the laboratory within company guidelines.

-Organise and plan daily workloads to meet Turn Around Times (TAT's).

-Safe handling of chemicals and awareness of laboratory hazards.

-Contribute to, monitor and update advancement in related methodology.

-Ensure that a health & safety culture, policies and procedures are promoted, communicated and implemented effectively.

Experience Required:

- Degree in Applied Chemistry or similar is essential.

- 2+ years' experience in a laboratory setting

- Experience within foods and feeds is essential.

- Broad knowledge of quality services and the factors involved in delivering a quality service to ISO 17025 standards.

-Some prior line management responsibility is desirable.

- Experience of high quality chemical analysis, specifically GC, ICP/OES, ICP/MS and IC.

-Good awareness of Health and Safety regulations relating to laboratory hazards.

- Understanding and proficiency with Laboratory IT systems.
