Buyer
We are a third-generation family owned company that has recently transitioned to an employee owned trust. Working with a strong client base of blue-chip companies we are currently increasing our friendly team. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and hard-working person with a positive attitude for the position of Buyer to undertake duties associated with the shopfitting & construction industry.
Buyer duties will include:
* Daily ordering of raw materials from external suppliers
* Daily ordering and reviewing of plant hire tools and equipment to ensure minimum hire costs whilst maintaining reports.
* Organising waste removal from construction sites.
* Updating delivery dates / chasing late orders & expediting raw materials where required
* Monitoring stock levels & liaising with warehouse supervisor to replenish stocks
* Working closely with Contracts Managers, Goods In & Production to ensure business requirements are met including stock availability issues
* Liaising with Goods In / Purchase Ledger / Suppliers where delivery / invoice discrepancies arise
* Assisting the Head Buyer in reviewing purchasing agreements with suppliers and maintaining price updates on Sage.
* Assisting the Head Buyer sourcing new raw materials suppliers and services.
* Requesting samples & technical information from potential new suppliers for future projects.
* Negotiating with new & existing suppliers
The successful Buyer will have the following skills / experience:
* Experience in purchasing within shopfitting joinery / construction environment.
* Excellent planning & organisational skills
* Ability to interpret and understand construction drawings an advantage but not essential
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and work under pressure
* PC literate with good experience of all Microsoft programmes especially Excel
* Experience of Sage Purchasing an advantage but not essential
