A well-established major fit out company in Basildon are looking to recruit a Manager to be responsible for the Metal Work Department. Duties:

Lead the team of highly skilled workers fabricate, manufacture and assemble components to details provided within production drawings including coordinating and supporting all requirements for all projects.
Review forecasted workloads undertaking forward planning to ensure resources and materials are available
Plan and prioritise works to be undertaken on a regular basis ensuring project delivery date are achieved
Regularly monitoring quality control procedures to ensure components are produced to the exact specification and standard quality expected.
Communicate any design revisions or programme updates to staff, enabling latest amendments to be implemented and resources managed
Monitor and evaluate processes, proactively implementing improvements to gain efficiencies and ensure best practise
Assist the Estimating team at bid/job stage to support the estimating for customer requirements, identify any potential challenges and provide solutions
Attend project handover meetings to understand metal work needs for each project
Working with the design team to ensure metal requirements are incorporated and the most efficient processes for manufacture.
Developing and maintain an effective tracking system
Manage the procurement of metal requirements in accordance with procurement procedures
Support the buying team providing guidance for external manufacture and raw materials procurement.
Liaise with existing and establish new suppliers regarding effective cost and quality controlSkills and Experience:

Previous experience of managing a workshop
Knowledge of all metal production methods
Knowledge of Health and Safety safe working practises PUWER
Must be an effective communicator and able to manage a teamBenefits:
