Job location:Stoke on Trent
Hourly pay rate:GBP12.18 per hour PAYE
Shifts:Days, Monday to Thursday with overtime Friday/Saturday if required
Hours per week:36 hours per week plus overtime
Leave:Pro-rata 33 days pa
Duration:Fixed Term Contract, 6 months minimum
Start date:ASAP

A Market Leader in the maintenance, service and repair of Rail Freight Rolling Stock
Position Summary
We are looking for a number of Pro-Active Team Players to join a busy manufacturing team responsible for the general strip and rebuild of Rail Freight Wagons
Working within a busy heavy maintenance/manufacturing site, the role will involve such procedures as the full strip down of rail freight wagons, de-corrosion procedures, burning and grinding before fabricating and letting in new metal. We are therefore looking for someone who has a min of 12-18 months experience of hands on tools with work experience in fabrication and Fettling
Successful applicants will be provided with mentored training to ensure safety and compliance
Person Profile/Experience:
An experienced Fettler/Fabricator, this would suit someone looking for an opportunity to break in to the Rail Engineering Industry, ex Forces Engineers, Plant Maintenance, Aerospace or Automotive Engineering/Fast Fit Maintenance skills will be suitable for this role
You will be physically fit and healthy, have a good sense of humour and be prepared to work outdoors where required.
Due to the nature of the work/role, an appreciation of H&S at work is essential, plus in line with Rail Industry Protocols there is a zero policy re being under the influence of Drugs & Alcohol whilst at work. Regular random checks are carried out to ensure compliance
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 1 or 2 in a mechanical fitting skill set desirable
