Job Description of a 3rd Line Support Engineer

Our market leading client is looking to secure the services of a 3rd Line Support Engineer to join their technical team on a permanent basis.

As the 3rd Line Support Engineer, you will be support the clients sites in the South West. The key purpose of the role is to provide 3rd Line escalations from 2nd Line Service Desk staff focusing on Problem Resolution.

When working on Problem Resolution you will create & update detailed guides and Workarounds for 1st & 2nd Line staff to work from to aid the swift resolution of Incidents and Requests that come in daily.

Key responsibilities of a 3rd Line Support Engineer will include:

* Providing 3nd Line Software and Hardware support

* Installing Maintaining and managing the local office network equipment

* Resolving Problems created by 2nd Line staff from ongoing incidents or logs

* Create detailed 1st/2nd Line Articles

* Setting up monitoring of key systems as they deploy with alerts to the Service Desk

* Updating the Asset Management Software when inventory items are installed at sites or are moved to new offices

* Order and manage the connectivity for each new office and upgrade site connectivity as speeds increase

* Supporting the Office 365, Azure AD

* Configuring and deploying Routers and Networking equipment at new and existing sites

Skills & experience of a Lead Developer:

* Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite Administration

* Expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure AD

* PowerShell Knowledge

* High level of networking knowledge, Cabling installation, Routing, VPN Tunnelling, Managed Switch installation, configuration, monitoring and support.

* Use of Ticket Management Systems such as Jira Service Desk

* MS O365 Deployment and Administration

* Draytek Cloud Administration and Deployment

* Use of Remote Monitoring tools

* Previous experience of Sophos SG and XG series firewalls and Sophos Wireless Access Points
