Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a global manufacturing business who are looking to add a senior Product Development Engineer to their growing technical team in 2021.
The Product Development Engineer will primarily engage proactively in the design and development of new products and systems, and to implement improvements to existing products and systems.
The Product Development Engineer's duties will include:
- Progressing product development projects from concept to completion
- Using Autodesk Inventor to model and analyse concepts, as well as other tools to facilitate and expedite the design process.
- Communicate designs / engineering solutions clearly and effectively using manual or electronic drafting methods
- Delivering on and understanding the basics of project management, risk assessment, design for manufacture and assembly, problem solving techniques
- Assist in and support the development of new processes and the specification of capital equipment. Provide manufacturing specification requirement envelopes and technical parameters to define process and equipment requirements.
- Engage in the development of design software for new and existing products.
- Continue to learn and develop personally and professionally within the role and accept secondment to other departments to support learning, e.g. site, estimating, contract management.
We are very keen to speak to candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Qualified in a Engineering discipline (Degree, or HNC/HND with relevant experience preferred)
- Strong Communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Understanding of fabrication techniques for sheet and sectional metal components.
- Preferably 5+ years in product development/design engineering
- Willingness to learn in both led and self-led environments
