South Thames Colleges Group are now looking for a Head of Study Programmes to play a key role in achieving its Outstanding Ofsted ambitions, the growth and development of study programme student numbers, the continued strong improvement in achievement and value-added outcomes for all study programme learners, and the continued development of a robust and consistent study programme experience for all. You’ll ensure the Group is ready to meet the changing needs of the curriculum landscape as the Government evolves towards greater T-level implementation and 16-18 curriculum reform and meets its Digital Transformation Strategy ambitions.

As our Head of Study Programmes, we’d like you to hold a relevant qualification at Level 6 or above and have previous experience of leading a successful team. You will be comfortable managing and delivering a sustainable budget, and will have worked across a large organisation, developing and delivering negotiated strategies and have experience of maintaining effective strategic relationships.

We’d also like you to have experience of successfully planning and delivering a large and complex 16-18 qualification offer that fully meets the expectations of the 16-18 conditions of funding. You should understand the needs of all study programme students, including HNS and be able to demonstrate the effective delivery of outstanding achievement results, and ALPs value added scores, that are in the top quartile nationally.

Experience of successfully delivering large scale celebratory events for partners and/or students would be beneficial, however, this is not essential.

This position is predominantly based at Kingston College but as it is a Group wide post, it will involve travel to other College sites.

Closing date for the return of completed applications is 27th June 2021

The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 37 days plus up to 7 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees’ physical and mental health. This leave is all in addition to Bank Holiday entitlement. There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme.

South Thames Colleges Group is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

The South Thames Colleges Group is made up of Carshalton College, Kingston College, Merton College and South Thames College, which merged on 1 August 2017. South Thames Colleges Group is one of London’s largest providers of post-16 education and training and is an ongoing and significant contributor to its local communities. We aim to put students’ success at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for hard-working and collaborative people who can join our team and help challenge our students to achieve and progress.

When you click on ‘Apply’, you will be forwarded to the application page which sits on a platform hosted by an external partner called Blue Octopus who support STCG throughout the recruitment process.
