Workforce Development Officer - Childrens Services
Permanent opportunity

Hoop Social Work are working on behalf of Monmouthshire County Council for this role.

Are you a qualified social worker and practice educator with a passion for supporting and developing our children's services workforce?

This is an opportunity to join a supportive and ambitious team that continues to develop the service that the authority offers to their social work colleagues. Monmouthshire are looking for a workforce development officer to work with their teams in children's services to support and develop the current and future workforce. You will be working alongside colleagues in children's services to support the development of their skills, knowledge and experience in order to offer the best service to the children, young people & families in Monmouthshire.

You will have an opportunity to support the whole children's services workforce from their very first post and see them grow - the sky is the limit!
If this sounds like you, and you can bring energy, enthusiasm and a commitment to improving the lives of Monmouthshire children and their families, we would love to hear from you.

This is ideally a full time opportunity, but applications are welcomed from social workers interested in 4 days per week. Monmouthshire are very open in terms of working hours so if you have childcare commitments etc. Monmouthshire will work with this!

Purpose of the role:

To work in partnership with Directorate Managers and others to ensure all staff working within children's services have opportunities to develop their practice in order to meet local and national priorities.
To support the development and implementation of identified workforce strategies.
To ensure staff and others have the competence to deliver what matters to the people we support.
You will have the ability to communicate and engage effectively, and be confident in building and maintaining positive working relationships.
You will have a clear understanding of a customer-oriented culture and be proactive in promoting this.
You will need to have a clear understanding and experience of identifying learning needs, organising and delivering learning and development activities for staff working throughout children's services in line with current legislation and local needs of the children's services workforce.
You will lead and support projects to ensure the children's services workforce is fit for purpose both now and in the future.
You will need to have good IT and administrative skills, be able to manage your own workload and respond to deadlines and competing agendas. For further information in relation to job responsibilities and benefits, contact Sarah Leigh at Hoop Social Work on (phone number removed)
