Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant - Part time

Daily Rate: GBP65 - GBP85
Nature of Employment: Supply/Permanent/Contractual

GSL Education are actively looking for candidates who have experience working with young people who have PMLD needs. This is an SEN school setting based in Nuneaton and is committed to providing a safe, caring and engaging environment that ensures that all pupils are able to access high-quality learning opportunities that cater to their individual needs and interests.
The potential candidate will work closely with a team of professionals to provide tailored and specific support for young people who have additional requirements in either Academic or Communicative development. A large part of this role is relationship and stability building for the young person. For this PMLD Teaching Assistant role you will be required to work within a small class where you will be assisting students with PMLD. Daily you will be assisting them with his activities, feeding and personal care. The ideal PMLD Teaching Assistant for this role will need to be confident in communicating using Makaton, PECs or BSL and have previous experience working with children who have Complex Needs.

Candidates that have been successful within this setting have had some experience in any of the following:

Physical Disabilities - that limit them in undertaking everyday tasks and often restrict mobility, the risk to body shape
Sensory Impairments
Sensory processing difficulties
Provide 1:1 Support (if needed)
Complex health needs (e.g Epilepsy, respiratory problems, dysphagia and eating/drinking problems)
'Coping behaviors' (to their communication or other difficulties)
