About the Company

This is a rare opportunity to work with a successful, reputable IBM Gold -accredited Premier Business Partner which has amassed over 300 person years of experience implementing business critical EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) solutions across a range of industries such as oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, utilities, facilities management, transport, and power generation.

They provide specialist consultancy services and support for the IBM Maximo EAM software product, and maintain a pool of highly experienced and capable consultants fully conversant with IBM Maximo and its functionality, capabilities and opportunities

Main Purpose:

Responsible for the solution design input and technical delivery management for assigned customer projects.

Support to the Project Management team around solution definition and solution delivery approach in order to meet both the scope and commercial objectives of the project.

Pro-active management to drive continuous improvement into the standard implementation methodology.

Collaboration with the Consulting and Development teams in UK and India to drive greater solution quality, productivity, and standardisation of delivery approach.

Specific Responsibilities:

Lead in the development of the solution specification for all assigned projects and work with the Project Manager to ensure solution deliverables are aligned with both client requirements and project scope. To include working with client teams to establish requirements and understand customer objectives.

Ensure that solutions developed fit within the scope and commercial constraints of the project.

Discovery, development, and refinement of business process maps.

Provide co-ordination and support to the project managers to identify the appropriate resources and technical capabilities required to meet the configuration and development requirements of the solution.

Validation with the project managers and other solution architects that the requirements and specification documentation is appropriate for the configuration and development required.

Support to the Configuration and Development resources in terms of approach to solution delivery and selection of the most appropriate configuration and development options.

Collaboration with the Technical Manager, Head of Solution Architecture, and other Solution Architects to establish a common approach to solution design.

Identification of opportunities for capability development of the Consultant and Development teams, including the options for cross-training and knowledge transfer.

Collaboration with the Technical Manager and Head of Solution Architecture to promote and embed continuous improvement strategies around automated deployment and automated testing into the company's implementation methodology.

Development of automated testing strategies for Unit and System testing, and the establishment of test-driven development.

Promotion of the company's offshore contingent as an effective delivery vehicle for configuration, development and testing of products and customer solutions.

Establishment of work management and communication strategies including agile working methodologies to ensure that the company's offshore arm is seen as the preferred option for configuration and development resourcing.

Support to the Sales process in the preparation of services estimates and statement of work content.

Skills/Qualities - Desirable:

Educated to a Batchelors Degree level or equivalent

Experience of Project Management Standards such as PRICNCE2 and Agile

A working knowledge of Business Process Design techniques including BPMN 2.0

An extensive understanding of key product areas: Maximo, WebSphere, IIB, Databases and SQL (MS, DB2, Oracle)
