Software Service Transition Lead
Would you like to play a key role in transitioning a wide range of new software into service for the MoD and Royal Navy? We currently have a vacancy for a Software Service Transition Lead at our site in Portsmouth - Broad Oak.
As a Service Transition Lead, you will be working in the expanding Digital Services sector of BAE Systems to transition a wide range of different software applications into service for the Royal Navy and MoD with the potential for this to grow with business. You will be working to define, plan and measure all aspects of these software services ensuring that the service provisions meet customer business requirements. You will ensure that the service acceptance criteria have been met and that the Digital Services or its partner organisations are ready to operate the new or modified service when deployed.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in the expanding Digital Services business within the BAE Systems. It will also give you the chance to deploy a varied and wide range of software into the Royal Navy and MoD. It could also lead to development and future opportunities with the wider BAE Systems Business.
Your main responsibilities as a Software Service Transition Lead will involve:
To conduct, review and update Service designs and agree services with project and operations team.
Conduct Service Transition activities for all Digital Services offerings
Manage operational readiness review on behalf of Operations and Support Manager
Liaise with all service component providers to ensure service designs & SLA's are able to be met.
Manage External Service providers on behalf of Operations and Support Manager.
Liaise with MOD and its authorities for all service design activities.
Ensure all service transition artefacts are made available to operations team.
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Software transition background
Service design Experience in a distributed organisation
Service Transition experience
Experience with direct customer engagement
Operational readiness reviews of software and managing that transition process
Experience with transitioning applications into service including production and review service designs
Desirable:
Ideally ITIL v3 , Service transition and Service Design certification.

You will have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work and team effectively with IT Services groups and other management personnel. Knowledge of service transition methodology will also be key to success within this role.
