DIO's Regional Delivery United States Visiting Forces team are expanding and undergoing a large recruitment drive, and we want you!
This is an exciting time to join our diverse, unique and motivated team where we are seeking likeminded and talented individuals. Our roles provide a great sense of achievement and enrichment, by supporting accomplishing our teams' outputs and goals based at various United States Air Force (USAF) bases.
No two days are the same as we support the United States Visiting Forces (USVF) in the UK. Our outputs include the delivery of works; developing and implementing DIO/US Civil Engineering joint policy and procedures and undertaking Estate Stewardship on behalf of the Secretary of State to ensure the estate is Safe and Legally compliant.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Building & Civil Engineering Manager to become specialised in the Facility Management and project construction arena. The Technical Team Lead will be situated at RAF Wyton. The successful applicant will deliver outputs with minimal supervision and direction and we are therefore seeking a highly motivated individual, who is an experienced with a passion to achieve results.
Job Description
Leadership and Management
•The Building & Civil Engineering Manager will be required to provide specialist B&CE technical advice and guidance to the Service Manager, Area Manager and front line DIO infrastructure staff working on USVF military establishments.
Stakeholder Management
•Responsible for progressing in a collaborative manner construction and facility management projects with USVF and our key Industry Partners (IP). Works may be new build, refurbishments of existing assets, maintenance or minor Infrastructure work up to the value of circa GBP5M in support of DIO requirements and the USVF Mission.
Assurance & Compliance:
•Provide professional technical assurance in relation to BC&E topic to support the assurance programme.
•Undertake compliance audits in accordance with policy direction providing assurance of efficient and effective delivery of contracted services.
Policy, Support and Programme Management:
•Familiarity of MOD standards and systems through attending training and briefings/presentations; Ensure familiarity with DIO Technical supporting processes; adherence to process and promotion of adherence for USVF and supplier stakeholders; attendance at DIO corporate meetings and events as appropriate; support Area Manager and SEFM's and colleagues on progression of technical compliance and projects.
Contract Management and Resolution:
•Developing and maintaining positive and collaborative working relationships with a range of stakeholders, including USVF, contracted suppliers, DIO colleagues including Stewardship, Business Support, Project/Additional Works, Commercial, Technical Services; adherence to and promotion of JSP375 and Safe Systems of Work; Familiarity with Health & Safety risks (e.g. Asbestos, Legionella, Environmental); actively contributing to Base Risk & Issue Register.
