Accountant

Our client, one of the fastest growing accountancy practices in the South-West is seeking an experienced Accountant to support and develop it business from the Head Office just outside Plymouth. Already enjoying a burgeoning reputation for the quality and delivery of both accountancy and advisory work, particularly to SMEs in the region, this new position will suit an ambitious accountant to make a mark outside the traditional corporate approach in the sector.

You will work with a varied client portfolio, supporting small businesses up to the multi-site, larger entities your responsibilities will encompass year-end accounts, tax return preparation with management accounting allied to VAT and the provision of advice where appropriate. As such you will have experience if managing a portfolio of clients, ideally for mainly Limited companies and preferably in the construction sector, and are happy to work autonomously, managing your own workload

You are an experienced, qualified accountant keen to develop your career for a company that is noted for a supportive, collegiate style. Interpersonally strong you are at ease liaising with clients at all levels and confident presenting accounting concepts in an accessible manner. Good accounting systems experience is key and hands-on working with Xero is an advantage.
